Input vs Return : How Much Money Can You Project to Make as a Blogger
I leave home for work at 6.15 AM to get to work by 7 Am (yup, life of an Engineer), which allows me to have a pretty decent time to think about stuff, you know just random stuff. Since, I have followed Darren Rowse’s 31 DBBB program @ Problogger, it was making me to think about the rate of return for blogger for his/her work vs income. To be specific I was looking for the relationship of monthly revenue from blogging and amount of work. So, some of the questions that came to my mind were the following:
- How long will it take for a blogger to reach his/her monthly goal (in terms of monthly revenue/visit/page view etc)?
- How much money will a blogger make once the goal is reached?
- How much money will a blogger make while reaching his/her monthly goal?
- What will be the blogs/website growth percentage?
- How can I expedite my blogs growth?
- What is the relationship between pageview vs uniques and heak lot more.
Anyways, unlike any other math problem, I have assumed the following to solve this problem.
- Goal: 100,000 visits/month ( Majority of website who ranks 100,000 in Alexa have this kind of visitors per month)
- Current: 1000 visits/month
- Page View : 1/visitor
So, I have calculated the number of months that I will take me to reach my goal base on 20%,30%,40% and 50% growth from my initial monthly number of visitors.
Now, I moved forward to the growth rate of 20% for my website and calculated my potential monthly revenue.
My take Away:
We all have to pay the price of being successful by working hard, either now or later, which also applies here. Either make less money for a long-time OR work super hard for a 15-20 months and back off and enjoy the money. I encourage you as my reader and WWW friends to make a conclusion about your goal and how long will take etc and share that with us. If you would like play with the excel file where you can change almost all the numbers and project for you website as well.
