April 2009 Online Searches Market Share by Search Engines
If you own a website then you already know that how important is to perform search engine optimization for your website. And as you might already know that , to be the best you have hang out with the best. In other words, play by the Google’s book and your blog will rank high. Report came out today by Comscore about the market share by search engines for April 2009. Google still leads the pack with the following highlights.
- Google dominates with a whopping 64.2% of the market share with an increase of 0.5% from March, 09.
- Yahoo ranks number 2 with 20.4% with a decrease of 0.1% from March, 09.
- Microsoft is still at number 3 with 8.2% of the search market share
- Ask is number 4 with 3.8% of the market share
- Aol is the last one with 3.4% of the market share
ComScore’s qSearch 2.0 figures are based on the five major search engines, including partner searches and cross-channel searches. Searches for mapping, local directory, and user-generated video sites that are not on the core domain of the five search engines are not included in the core search numbers.
